Join us on Friday, July 22nd at Century Grill for the VBR IV pre-party.  Century Grill has generously offered us the run of the second floor of this beautiful building.  This amazing space once served downtown Buffalo as a Freemasons Lodge!  It is without a doubt, the coolest venue in downtown Buffalo.  Outside of the amazing architecture, we will have food, raffles and a cash bar.  The VBR basket raffle has been moved from the main show to the pre-party.  At the pre-party you will find amazing items from Bikers Choice, Drag Specialties, Biltwell Inc., Andrew Barber Shop, Iron Art Cycles, Voz Cycle City, Bison Motorsports, Old Soul Hot Rod Shop, Dunn Tire, Vanson Leathers, Old Bike Barn Cotter Pin, Broken Sprocket Garage, Devil Chicken Design and Anthony Philip Festa.  You won't want to miss out on these amazing items!  Raffle tickets will be $1.00 each or 12 for $10.00 and as always, proceeds will benefit Pets for Vets and The Rural Outreach Center.  We will also have the VBR Raffle Bike on site along with raffle tickets and VBR IV event shirts from Positive Approach.  Both raffle bike tickets and event shirts are in limited quantities, so you'll want to get to the pre-party to be sure you get yours!  We'll see you at Century Grill...

VBR IV Location Update

4/17/2016

While it may seem like we've been quiet about VBR IV details, I can assure you we've been busy behind the scenes. The main issue has been that our downtown Buffalo location inexplicably pulled out after 7 months of being on board with the event. No reason, they just pulled the plug. We regrouped and upped the ante on Buffalo's premier handbuilt chopper show. We have secured a new AND BETTER location! Why better? Well this one has a bar that runs out of a vintage Airstream trailer and a fully operational arcade! Take a look at the pictures and I think you'll agree. July 23rd just got a whole lot better!

April has been a busy month for the #vbrrafflebike!  She is in the process of being disassembled for paint and powdercoat work.  If all goes as planned the raw steel and aluminum that has been on display will be transformed into a finished chopper and making the rounds to a show near you by the end of May!  Keep your eyes out for more updates and details where you can pick up your chance to take her home on July 23!

Bryant Plymel, the owner and lead fabricator of ReRun Cycle-Works Mfg. Co., packed up his welder and made the trip from Jamestown to East Aurora to help out with the VBR Raffle Bike.  Bryant teamed up with David Roberts, owner of Broken Sprocket Garage and builder of the VBR Raffle Bike, to mount our fender and fabricate a sissy bar and tail light mount.  Outside of being an all-around great guy, Bryant is an incredibly talented fabricator.  We are very grateful for the donation of his time and talent.  Be sure to check out more of Bryant's work at Re-Run Cycle-Works Mfg. Co. on Facebook.

Remeber, you can ride this bike home July 23rd for only a $40 ticket!  Tickets will be on sale at the Buffalo Motorama March 24th-26th.  Stop by the VBR Raffle Bike in the open wheel room to grab your tickets.

Where it all begins...

Here is where we start, a stale old bottle of grape  soda.  Our build started life in 1988 as a Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster. The plan is to pop the cap off this crusty old cruiser and reveal all of it's proper chopper bones.  The plan is to add a hard-tail, polish and add a big bore kit to the motor and add some tight and clean metal work.  It will be finished off with a non-traditional paint job by  Devil Chicken Design.

David Bird Hardtails donated a 2" stretch and 2" drop loop tail.  This high quality part is made so that the stock frame cradle does not need to be cut.  It is bolted up to the lower motor mount and then welded in place. David Bird did a great service to the garage builder by engineering the alignment system. It's like a frame jig built into the hardtail wotj super solid welds. It even has clear instructions to boot! Thank you David Bird Hardtails, this piece really sets the bar for the build!

The plan is to add a kidney tank oil bag to pay homage to the previous generations of Sporty Chops.

Bam!! We got vintage style leading the way with this amazing headlight donated by Derek Seiber.

Lowbrow Customs came through by donating some game changing, style shifting parts!  Lowbrow steel fork shrouds and a narrowed frisco tank gave the build a push in the right direction.
Picture
The narrow frisco tank gives the build a tight line when viewed from behind. The plan is to let Devil Chicken Design do his thing on this sheet metal.  I can't wait to see what Chris Galley's warped mind spews onto this fuel cell.

I raised up the Frankie Bowman Motorcycle handlebars 1 1/2". I think they add a pretty tough looking profile.
